true carmine came as dye as potent die
it felt no name and lies tamed upon the courtyard floor
i hug the cold early air as i despair from my balcony upon its crimson tide
a painter immersed in red crises morning blown upon the real canvas
child of mine supine for change has blown its fearsome breeze and now may rest
i do not care for words or find them
culled notes so cool as bitter frosts will not thaw upon chill future days
hope cowls and with its hammer
pretends its style and beats its maudlin time
upon the funeral bell its remains are hung with mortar and with lime
yet inside its house decay is silent gliding in its wooden cloak
and in silk we morn
are you a rock
for a rock in lifting sang
as with its brethren we threw it in the muffled hole
and our tears with it sang upon Terre's open table
where lay the picture incomplete and young
its rendered palette mere hues are lacquered mono now
as quiet serenity descends upon the picture of its deepened seas
for Mort acute is at the helm
and off she sails forever
to the distant salons of fates choosing
grief be leaving far behind
dedicated to the memory of the
liveliest and most characterful girl
