Tender

tender the fields brutal the seas
in whose arms lie
the sweet promise of maturity
sweet dream of mankind
beloved witness to the endless earth
let our spirits rise like the early dawn
and the burgeon the chirping air
with that fresh dawn drawn upon our cheeks
and woodlands grow anew from splintered brogues of trees
and seas afresh with springs pure clarity of gift
so let our gilded land be known
its temperate paradise replenished all
its flowers and its memory
and bear witness to our sacrifice
on your behalf
and we ask you pledge
that same to yours
