river

assertive you are for sure
for i wrongly thought
vain does not like to be alone in its chameleon colours
and the laws of indignation shunned you
my satan felt too busy to attend to nonsense and mere noise

so in your pretty way
you knelt and rippling chanted
a sybyl noise to reptiles birds and fish and ants alike
and the call invoked
from deepest seas and glorious verdant forests far away
way beyond my tiny headland
all the kings and queens of nature
their eyes glow in wrath

they propose that quakes and demons rise
to cleanse me from your perfect footsteps
they provoke the wildest rains a falling falling
then
like an attribute of water
that brought out the bluishgrey around your stone
the river bed the colour of a living god
showed me all your lustre truth
i saw your heaven
and i knew i am too small to hold it in my self
